Hi! My name is Rachel Origer and I am a senior in Civil Engineering from Adel, IA. The past three years I have been an Engineering Senator for the College of Engineering and I have loved being able to help improve the ISU experience for students. Throughout my time with Student Government, I have been on the Public Relations committee, Student Initiatives Committee, the Library Advisory Committee, and Traffic Board of Appeals. Outside of Student Government, I am involved with Engineers' Week, ISU Relay for Life, and intramurals, my favorites being badminton and volleyball.
My goal this year is to improve the student experience, whether it be on-campus or off-campus. I really want to improve communication with not only students but also between Senate and Cabinet. Another goal for me is to have Student Government's and the Ames Farmers' Market's joint event, I Love Ames, be a success. I have been working with other Student Government members to put on an event that will give Ames residents an opportunity to learn about what our student organizations are doing and I am really excited about it!
