Psychology and Criminal Justice

I am a senior in Psychology and Criminal Justice, as well as Political Science for my minor. After Iowa State, I plan to go to law school, and am passionate about criminal justice reform. In my free time, I like to embroider, attempt to keep my plants alive, and watch horribly cheesy reality TV shows with my friends. I am involved with the Iowa State chapter of Psi Chi, NAMI, and am a Student Ambassador for the Psychology Department. In the past, I have been involved with Student Government through the Health and Wellness Commission.

Mental health is a large priority of mine, as well as the relationship between Iowa State students and Student Government. My goals are to increase student knowledge and awareness of the mental health resources we have, and incorporate student feedback into improving those resources and filling in the gaps where necessary to maximize student benefit. I plan to reach this goal by working closely with Student Counseling Services and the Health and Wellness Commission of Student Government. As a UROC Senator, it is important to me that all Iowa State students feel involved and are able to participate in campus activities despite any distance. I want to coordinate with Ames city council to improve programs such as the bus routes, the recycling program, and ensuring the equality of on and off-campus students when considering things such as class excuses during dangerous road conditions.
