I am Lena and I come from Des Moines, IA. I am Vietnamese American and grew up in a very diverse community, so it is important for me to help other students of color on campus feel welcomed and have a sense of belonging. I am also a Linguistics major hoping to pursue Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) during graduate school. I joined Student Government because I am inspired by the amount of change we as students are capable of and I want to continue exploring ways we can better serve everyone on campus.
Goals I have as a senator is to increase student participation and awareness of student government, increase sustainability usage, provide more resources for students in mental health and financial crises, give voice, and learn how to become a better leader in a multicultural community.
