Hi! My name is Lauryn and I am a senior at Iowa State from Yankton, SD, studying Animal Science Pre-Vet with a minor in General Business. I am a member of Iowa State’s Sorority and Fraternity Community and currently serve as the Vice President of Social Justice for the Collegiate Panhellenic Council. I have also volunteered with Iowa State Alternative Breaks and have worked as a multicultural Peer Mentor for CALS. This is my second year on Student Government Cabinet, and I am excited to be a part of this organization again, especially in such an important role.
During my time in this position, I plan to work through multiple actionable initiatives with the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and other Cabinet members to promote and sustain a welcoming environment for all Iowa State students. Some of these include mapping out accessible buildings and gender-neutral bathrooms on campus, social media campaigns highlighting racial health disparities in relation to COVID-19, and many other items that committee members will bring to the table.
