Hello fellow Cyclones!

My name is Jacob Ludwig, and I am a Senator representing the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. I am a native Iowan and a lifelong Cyclone! You can find me in the Student Government offices most days around lunch time, talking politics, listening to podcasts, and showing everyone cute photos of my dog.

I ran for the Student Senate because of my passion for service, and making our community a better place. I saw the potential of Student Government as a tool for good, and knew that it was where I needed to be.

My campaign platform included a focus on fiscal responsibility so that your money is used wisely, a promise to encourage meaningful reform on the campus at large to better support our fellow Cyclones, and a pledge defend your rights as students to express your beliefs and identity openly and without fear. I intend to find ways throughout the year to touch on all of these issues and more, as they are at the core of what Student Government can do for you.

In addition to my service in the Senate, I also am a part of several other student organizations. I currently serve as the President of Freshmen Council, where we work to help all first year student find their place on campus by having leaders within their class take the initiative. I also serve as a Legislative Ambassador for Student Government, lobbying the state legislature to pass student friendly policies such as Medical Amnesty. Lastly, I serve as a student representative on the ISU Committee on Lectures, where we work with student groups to fund speakers at events all around campus.

• Revitalize the Student Supreme Court by granting it new responsibilities and more direct involvement in Student Government.
• Reigning in irresponsible spending
• Promoting sustainability
• Building a better campus climate
