My name is Daniel Pfeifer and I live in Des Moines. I came to Iowa State last fall for engineering and wanted to get involved on campus and in student government. I plan on becoming a structural engineer. Some of my hobbies are history, and Architecture. My favorite part of history period is the the French revolution and Napoleonic Wars, I think it is a really fascinating time period. My favorite songs are Cat's In the Cradle and American Pie. Some of my favorite movies are Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
I want student government to spend much less student money on nonessential projects that aren't relevant to most students. Along with that I want to make it clear to student on where their funds go.
I also want to make campus safer without excessive costs. Keeping campus safe benefits everybody. One thing i'd like to see is more lighting, some parts of campus are neglected when it comes to light, and could use some brightening up.
Lastly I want to make sure that student government is not limiting free speech on campus, universities should be the place where the most freedom of speech and exchange of ideas occurs, and we should encourage that exchange and debate, not hinder it.
