Parking ticket relief is back!

About the Program

Each student is eligible to have one ISU PD-issued parking ticket waived per academic year, up to a maximum value of $50. To do this, program participants volunteer at the SHOP food pantry. It’s an easy way to clear up unexpected parking fines without leaving campus. Plus, you’ll be supporting students in need and ensuring that your unpaid ticket doesn't hold you back from registering for classes or finals. When the Parking Ticket Relief Fund has been exhausted, the registration form above will close until additional funding has been allocated.

Step 1: Sign Up

Every year, countless Iowa State students receive unexpected parking tickets on campus. It happens to the best of us. These fines can be difficult to budget for, and if left unpaid, they prevent you from registering for your classes and finals. Student Government established the Parking Ticket Relief Program as a practical alternative to paying these fines out of pocket.

Step 2: Volunteer

In the email you receive following signing up for the program, there will be a link to sign up for volunteer training as well as volunteer spots. Complete the training and volunteer to have Student Governemnt cover your ticket.

Step 3: Get Relief

Upon completion of your volunteer hours, we'll let you know that the ticket is covered and no further action is needed on your behalf. It's that simple!

Q&A

Tickets that are $50 or less are eligible for relief, as anything above that amount are more serious and beyond the scope of this program.

You will have 30 days from the date you sign up for the program. Don't worry if your ticket gets charged to your U-Bill- it can be credited back to your account upon completion of the Parking Ticket Relief Program.

If the due date passes and you have not completed all of your hours, you are responsible for paying the full ticket. If you have a valid reason for an exception (ex: not enough available hours), then the due date can be extended by contacting sgovpark@iastate.edu with an explanation.

Each student is only eligible for one ticket to be paid off. If you try to sign up for the program more than once, you will not be able.

Contact sgovpark@iastate.edu for assistance with any problems or questions you may have.

Student Government's role is to serve and advocate for all Iowa State students. All current ISU undergraduate & graduate students are eligible for the Parking Ticket Relief Program. Faculty/Staff or members of the Ames community are not eligible.
