Green Initiatives Fund Committee
The Green Initiatives Fund is a fund in which student lead organizations around Iowa State and Ames can apply to receive money for their projects, events, and initiatives that promote environmental, economic, or social sustainability.
A total of $15,000 is allocated to the Green Initiatives Fund every year and it is the responsibility of the Green Initiatives Fund Committee to review applications that are submitted and decide how these funds should be allocated.
The committee is comprised of two Sustainability Committee members, two Senators, the Director of Sustainability for Iowa State, Facilities Planning and Management Representative, as well as the Senior Director of Student Services. Meetings take place when an application is submitted and are dependent upon get schedules of the committee members.
Statement from the Committee Chair:
My goal this year for the Green Initiatives Fund is to distribute as much of the $15,000 we are allocated as we can. There are so many great minds at work here at Iowa State University working with so many great organizations.
I hope that this fund can aid those worthy causes in accomplishing their goals to make Iowa State and Ames a more sustainable and environmentally friendly place to be!
