From the proposing Bylaws ammendments to vetting senatorial nominees, the Rules Committee is the Student Senate's most exclusive committee.
The Rules Committee is comprised of the speaker, vice speaker, and a select few senators. This committee makes important decisions regarding Bylaw changes, analyzes contracts and agreements, vets nominees for senate positions, and makes other important determinations on behalf of the senate. Historically, this body has also considered proposed changes to the senate's structure, acted on behalf of constituency councils when they're unable to make appointments, and worked to train all senators in the proper use of Robert's Rules. Further, the majority of senate legislation originates from this committee. Members of this committee gain valuable skills technical writing, attention to detail, and thoughtful organizational stewardship as they oversee how the Student Senate conducts its business.
